Difference between x86 and x64 builds

Jan 17, 2013 at 8:42 PM

I'm trying to work through what exactly is different between the x86 and x64 builds of Trident. Other than the fact that there are different libraries for connecting to SQL Server express, I'm not noticing much.

Does someone have some insight on what other differences exist?

Eric, the x86 builds and x64 builds avialable for download has same dependencies. All the resources that has been used in the build are 32 bit. But you can create a x64 build on 64 bit machine by using the 64 bit resources. Please see the onboarding guide on how to generate a trident build.

Let me know if you will encounter any issue.

I guess my question is more related to the actual details of what is different between the two builds? Based upon what seems like a limited number of differences, I would think it'd be possible to build Trident as an AnyCPU. I just need to know if there's practical differences between the two and if so, whether they can be worked around.
